5-05-09: Waiting

Sarah is still in the hospital.

Her pneumonia has not improved and her doctors said she will not recover. She has been on antibiotics and an anti fungal for almost two weeks. She has retained a lot of fluid in places it doesn't belong like her belly and lungs. Diuretics have provided short term relief, but done little to remove the excess fluid outside of her blood vessels.

Sarah's condition has degraded a lot since we brought her into the hospital last Wednesday. Susan and I feel she has little time left (perhaps tonight, or several days) unless God intervenes. The medical team have done pretty much all they can do.

We have prayed every night that Sarah will recover from her pneumonia and the fluid retention and will do so again tonight. Regardless of the outcome, we will continue to believe in God's goodness. For now, we will wait to receive God's will for Sarah and our family.

Please pray for Sarah and our family.

-Ben

Ben, Susan and Family,
I am so very sorry to read this news. I can't even really think of the right words to say to comfort you at this time. We stopped last Saturday and saw Sandra, and had a fantstic visit with your parents & family. I continue to pray for Sarah, as well as the rest of your family. You have an amazing family, an amazing strength, and Sarah is truly blessed to have you for her parents! May God bless you all at this time...

Dear Susan and Ben and family,
While Sarah is still here on earth there is always hope for recovery and we are praying along with you that she will be restored to good health. I also pray that God will give you the strength that is needed for this day and that each new day he will give you strength for that day.
With all my love, Lynn
P.S. Please tell Sarah that Shoshanna remembers having tea with her and would love to do it again. She also prays for her everyday!

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Psalm 34:18-19
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;

Dear Susan and Ben,
I am thinking of Sarah every single day as well as your entire amazing family and praying for you all. I wish I could have spent more time with you when my son was at CHaD but although we only knew you and Sarah briefly you have all touched my heart. Sarah must surely know how much love and amazing grace is surrounding her and I hope you can find some comfort in that. Love and Healing prayers and Hugs for all of you. Diane O'Neil
